Album Presentation
After reinterpreting themes by Jennifer Lopez and Mylène Farmer on the piano, Joseph Schiano di Lombo releases his first original compositions—music dedicated to our best friends: dogs, whether they be pets, shepherds, guide dogs, or avalanche rescuers. Composed with wit, mannerism, and a certain flair, his debut record Musique de niche is a public love song not only meant for pooches, but for all their two-legged companions as well.
Still at the keyboard, but this time, no piano. Instead, a flurry of warm, playful, and melancholic tones that pay tribute to the virtuosos of tenderness—somewhere between subtle ambient and the soundtracks of vintage TV movies. Several episodes of a dog’s life are featured: the dreams of puppies, walks through the endless forests of North America, long afternoons of napping in an empty house, and not to forget (because there always has to be a little) a brief commercial break for budget kibble.
This marks Joseph’s debut EP, and also the first in the new Meditations series launched by the label. This limited series will spotlight various artists offering not music for dancing or partying, but music to truly listen to—for once—music to escape into and dream with. For this inaugural release, Joseph presents a piece devoted to our canine friends. The multi-talented artist calmly leaves his mark as a refined entertainer.
