On January 21, 22, and 23, 2022, multidisciplinary artist Joseph Schiano di Lombo performed six public live sets in the presidential lounge of the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, perched on the 22nd and top floor of the tower. Alone on stage, in near-total darkness lit only by the city’s glow, he wove, from one performance to the next, a continuous thread of ambient music for clarinet, synthesizer, percussion (tam-tams), acoustic celesta, and virtual orchestra.

On the final day, he recorded the last live set — a culmination of his evolving, in-situ experiments. The resulting album unfolds as a series of variations on a simple seven-note theme: a tribute to the shadows of the day and a love song to the lights of the night — those which, more than ever in darkness, know how to reveal themselves.
